Let’s
beat gonorrhea.
Gonorrhea is spreading fast
among gay and bisexual men in Boston. You can help stop
the spread of gonorrhea by learning more about the disease
and getting tested. This
site provides the information you need.
Make gonorrhea testing
part of your routine.
If you are sexually active, you should make
(sexually transmitted disease) STD
testing part of your routine. You have a few options:
- Visit a testing
site for free or low-cost testing
- Get tested at your own health care
provider's office or health center
Gonorrhea is
curable.
Antibiotics are the standard treatment for this infection and are usually
given by injection. Although the infection is treatable, if left
untreated gonorrhea can lead to a host of medical problems including infertility
and/or spread of the infections to the brain, the heart and the joints.
